The way out

Just under 3 weeks from my planned departure date. Still stocking up on supplies. Feeling like Santa (making his list and checking it twice). I have done a lot of thinking about this trip and what routes to take and where to focus my limited time. This map shows my planned route out. No frills apart from a side trip in Red Deer and a two day side trip to Wood Buffalo National Park.

(Wood Buffalo National Park of Canada is our country's largest national park and one of the largest in the world. It was established in 1922 to protect the last remaining herds of bison in northern Canada. Today, it protects an outstanding and representative example of Canada's Northern Boreal Plains.)

I plan on doing 2 nights of back country camping and fishing in the park. Before moving on to a day of sightseeing in Yellowknife, NWT.

Then its the long and winding road home.
